Thirty-three schools make the Honor Roll based on the Oklahoma School Report Cards for 2022
OKLAHOMA CITY – The 2022 Alpha Plus Honor Roll is finally available with the addition of the 2022 Oklahoma School Report Cards scores and letter grades last week on a platform hosted by the State Department of Education at https://www.oklaschools.com.
Thirty-three schools that use the Alpha Plus Model of School Improvement received A or B grades compared to 26 on the honor roll in 2019 (the most recent state report cards available). All Alpha Plus Partner Schools getting “A” grades from the state either improved or maintained the grade over the last three school years. Some schools such as Balko, Bennington, Flower Mound and Geronimo have used Alpha Plus tools for more than five years; others such as Fargo-Gage, Morrison, and Roff have been trained in the model over the last couple of years.
“This is the only empirical data that reflects performance by students in Oklahoma public schools in a comparable manner,” explains Alpha Plus CEO Jan Barrick.
“No matter what we may think of state tests, they are required by state and federal law so we do all we can to help schools beat the odds against them while we work on ways to move Oklahoma into the Top Ten nationally.”
While the state’s report cards include many indicators of educational performance, about three-quarters of any school’s grade comes from state test scores. Alpha Plus Partner Schools have outperformed state averages every year of the Oklahoma School Report Cards and the previous A-F Report Cards used for state accountability under the Every Student Succeeds Act or ESSA. More schools using Alpha Plus Online in 2021-22 received an A, B or C grade compared to 2018-19 and fewer received Ds and Fs.
