Alpha Plus Educational Systems is Oklahoma’s premier school-improvement firm with proven results achieved over more than 30 years. Initially a tutoring company founded in 1986 to help students raise their report-card grades, the Alpha Plus mission evolved into creating and providing tools to schools to improve their report-card grades for state and federal accountability. Since 1990, when the Oklahoma Legislature mandated the state’s first academic standards, Alpha Plus Educational Systems’ team of educators has been honing their skills to help schools meet ever-changing mandates related to student success.
Alpha Plus created a system of assessments so teachers and administrators could monitor student mastery of state standards and wrote curriculum aligned solely to the Oklahoma Academic Standards (OAS). The team prides itself on being nimble enough to stay on top of changes to the OAS so their diverse partner schools can maintain an instructional pace that leads to greater success on state tests.
Written by Oklahoma teachers for Oklahoma students to Oklahoma standards, Alpha Plus publishes Success with OAS English language arts and mathematics curriculum. The K-8 series for mathematics and Grades 3-8 series for ELA are available in print and online versions in an easy-to-use platform.
- Alpha Plus Online benchmark-summative and common-formative assessments produce real-time reports by student, class, and school in alignment with performance measures and expectations of the state of Oklahoma and U.S. Department of Education.
- Evidence-based practices in the Alpha Plus Model of School Improvement help low-performing schools focus on each student’s success to become high-progress schools. Instructional teams learn to use data in making decisions regarding remediation and extension that improve both instruction and school results.
Alpha Plus trains educators how to improve instruction and student success using a continuous cycle of school improvement called the “Way to an A.” Alpha Plus schools have outperformed the state average for every year of the Oklahoma School Report Cards.
